Annual Gulf-Franklin Sportsmans' Banquet benefitting Lion's Club Community Services.The Port St. Joe Lions Club has set the date for the annual Gulf/Franklin Sportsman's Banquet for Thursday evening, November 6. Last year's event raised over $20,000 for community service projects in Gulf and Franklin counties. Members are planning to make this year's event even bigger and better.
The event begins at 5:00 with appetizers and beverages, and registration for auctions, silent auctions and raffles.Charles Norton will have his world-famous steak dinner ready at 6:30. At 7:30, over $25,000 worth of contributions and prizes will be distributed to the guests through silent auctions, public auctions and raffles.
Tickets are $50 for individuals, $80 for couples and $25 for children. They can be purchased at Preble-Rish and Hannon Insurance in Port St. Joe and Apalachicola State Bank in Apalachicola.

The Wewahitchka Womens Club sponsors the annual Christmas Lights in the Park holiday festival on Saturday December 20 beginning at 10:00 am CT at Lake Alice. Children and Family entertainment will be available all day long at the park with live music, a 5K Jingle Bell Run, craft and food vendors. The City of Wewahitchka presents the Christmas Parade at dark (around 5:00) along Main Street and ending at Lake Alice Park where the trees wil be lit and children will share cookies and coco with Santa.
